UPDATE
The Big Game Council Establishment Committee has completed the process of receiving submissions and held 13 public meetings across New Zealand in late 2009. Submissions closed 23 November 2009.
Since then the Committee has held two further meetings to reconsider the proposals in the discussion paper, in the light of submissions and other feedback.
The Committee now expects to finalise its recommendations to the Minister of Conservation by the end of February.
